Lillian’s Harpsichord

Walt and his wife Lillian loved traveling to New Orleans, Louisiana where they would often buy antiques and items that reminded them of the beauty and elegance of a bygone era. This is also where Lillian got the idea for the One-of-a-Kind Shop for New Orleans Square, an antique shop where everything really was one of a kind.

One of the most unique pieces of furniture in the club is Lillian’s harpsichord, situated in the lounge, with its lid open, displaying a hand-painted scene of Jackson Square and the Mississippi River from around early 19th century. The artwork was done by Collin Campbell, one of Disney’s layout and background artists. Campbell passed way April 2, 2011 in Lighthouse Point, Florida.
